About Easier with AT
The Easier with AT project is a product of the Connecticut State Department of Education/Bureau of Special Education in conjunction with the State Education Resource Center to help Connecticut residents access information related to tools, devices, supports, and services regarding AT. Additional Easier with AT partners include New England Assistive Technology (NEAT) and the RESC Alliance.
Connecticut State Department of Education
The Connecticut State Department of Education is the administrative arm of the Connecticut State Board of Education. Through leadership, curriculum, research, planning, evaluation, assessment, data analyses, and other assistance, the Department helps to ensure equal opportunity and excellence in education for all Connecticut students.
Regional Educational Service Centers (RESC)
Regional Educational Services Centers (RESCs) are nonprofit, fee-for-service, public education agencies with a mission to provide quality, cost-effective education resources, programs, and services to the state’s public schools.
State Education Resource Center (SERC)
SERC is a quasi-public agency established under statute to serve the CT State Board of Education in supporting educational equity and excellence. Agency offerings include the SERC Library, support for early childhood education and school improvement, along with annual conferences and professional development on a wide range of topics for Connecticut’s educators and the students and families they serve.
New England Assistive Technology (NEAT)
The NEAT Center at Oak Hill offers the latest technologies, products, equipment, and services that assist people with day-to-day activities that they have trouble doing themselves, either because of a learning difference, disability, or the effects of aging.
